Mike Malone and Family

Longtime Martinez resident Orrin F. "Mike" Malone passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the age of 90.
Born in Crawfordsville, Indiana in 1919, Mike attended Hanover College after high school, but left school to enlist in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He fought at Guadalcanal and was ultimately stationed at Port Chicago, where he was on duty during the explosion of 1943.
After serving our country he returned to school and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley.
Mike was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and was a life member of the NRA. He worked at the Avon refinery for more than 35 years, until his retirement in 1985.
Mike is survived by his adoring wife of 65 years Connie, their two daughters Patricia and Terri, two grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren.
